Dermal Fillers

 What is it?

Our dermal fillers contain a clear gel made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the skin which is responsible for hydrating and adding volume to the skin’s structure. The Juvéderm®Vycross range of products replaces the lost hyaluronic acid, moisturising the skin from within and helping to improve elasticity and tone.  Juvéderm® quickly restores your skins lost volume and smoothes away facial lines. The Juvéderm® ranges have the additional benefit of having a local anaesthetic already in the preparation, which leads to a more comfortable procedure and an overall more pleasant experience.

The Juvéderm® "Vycross" fillers are a range of products that are a new generation of hyaluronic acid from Allergan. The fillers are made up of a specially formulated type of hyaluronic acid that lives naturally in your skin. It is a biodegradable, natural gel that is easily injected into your skin. Once injected it instantly fills out troublesome lines, leaving a smooth and natural look to the face. The results are instant, so you will notice the results straight away.

The Vycross range consists of different graded dermal filler. Your practitioner will discuss the different products and benefits of each and together a treatment plan can be formulated to ensure you achieve the most natural look whilst enhancing your desired result.

We are delighted to be able to introduce the newest Dermal Filler of the range VOLUX to our services. Juvederm VOLUX has been designed to restore and create volume in the chin and jaw area and results may be seen for 18-24 months. This new product is an evolution with the Vycross collection potentially providing increased projection and enhanced lift capacity enabling us to sculpt chins, jaw lines for all age groups. It should be noted that due to the nature of this new filler , only fully qualified experienced practitioners are receiving the training by the manufacturers and should be the only ones to licensed to treat the general public.

Juvéderm®  is our filler of choice due to the additional benefits of local anaesthesia, smoothness of product and its longevity but if you have other preferences we are more than happy to accommodate this and are trained in various dermal fillers.

What is it used to treat?
Dermal fillers can be used to improve the appearance of unwanted lines, creases and folds. Dermal fillers use natural products that mimic those lost from the skin to achieve natural results. The filler is used to smooth out and fill lines. By replacing the volume in these areas, skin will appear smoother and feel softer, giving an overall more youthful look.

As we age our bodies are under constant attack from the weather, the sun, pollution, fatigue, hormone changes and the natural aging process. As a result of aging the skin's natural moisture retaining hyaluronic acid also declines. This inevitable moisture loss causes the lines, folds and creases around the mouth, nose, jaw, cheeks and lips, giving us an older and more tired image.

Revitalisation treatments

Hyaluronic gel injections can also be used to improve and revitalise the condition of skin. It is targeted at a broad range of treatment areas including the face, neck, décolletage (the area between the neck and breasts) and hands; designed to replenish the hyaluronic acid lost through ageing, hence hydrating the skin and improving its elasticity and tone.

The recommended injection technique is the micro-puncture technique that involves injecting very small amounts of product into the deep dermis, about 1- 2cm apart. Once injected, the  gel flows smoothly and distributes evenly in the skin.

The natural hydrating properties  make this treatment well suited to all skin types, whether skin is dry or oily.

How does it work?

When hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin it lifts fine lines and wrinkles, adds volume where it has been lost and re-hydrates the skins tissue. In some areas several treatments may be recommended to achieve the best result. Dermal fillers are used to soften lines on the face; this could be from the nose to the corner of the mouth, along the lip border to stop lipstick bleeding or for fine lines on the cheeks. It can also be used after wrinkle correcting injections on any remaining frown lines, on the top of hands and on the décolleté to rejuvenate thin sun damaged skin. It can even be used to sculpt cheek bones, jaw lines, temples, lips and generally volumise any area of the face where natural loss of volume has occured due to the natural aging process or weight loss.
The lip contour or body can be defined, enhanced or augmented to suit your natural face shape.

 How is it performed?

The procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic [a topical cream and/or dental block depending on the area to be treated and client preference]. However, the Juvederm range now has Lidocaine (a local anaesthetic) incorporated into the filler, so clients are finding it a far more comfortable procedure to undergo without the need for additional anaesthetic. Dermal filler is injected in to the skin along the line of the wrinkle. The area is then massaged to ensure a smooth surface. In volumising treatments the non surgical "8 point face lift" technique is used to give volume and structure to the cheeks, jowls, jaw line and chin. Our practitioner ensures that she is alway updated on the latest techniques to ensure that you receive the safest and most effective treatments .

 How long will it last?

Dermal fillers remain in the skin for approximately 6-18 months dependent on product used and area treated.  Dermal fillers have the great advantage of slowly being broken down by the body. This is very important as it allows your treatment to be adapted at every stage of the ageing process.

 What are the risks?

Obviously, no treatment can be guaranteed to present ‘no risk’. However JUVEDERM has a proven safety record, having been used to treat over six million clients. Any potential risks will be explained to you at time of consultation
